While thumbing through “I Do” magazine, I found an article I haven’t seen before… Help with creating complimentary color schemes for those in your bridal party.
Have a color in mind but not sure which hue? Since different bridesmaids may look better wearing/like different colors, here are some helpful tips for choosing what can flatter (and please) them all.
Blondes:
Blues – Cobalt, Sapphire, Teal
Greens – Emerald, Hunter, Kelly, and Mint
Reds – Burgundy, Deep Pinks, Fuschia, and Ruby
AVOID – Gray, Silver, Yellow
Brunettes w/ Fair Skin:
Blues – Cobalt, Navy, Sapphire, Teal
Greens – Emerald, Kelly, Olive, Turquoise
Reds – Burgandy, Fuschia, Orange, and Ruby
AVOID – Light Shades of Green, Purple, and Yellow
Brunettes w/ Olive Skin:
Blues – Bright, Cobalt, Navy, and Sapphire
Greens – Emerald, Kelly, Olive, Turquoise
Reds – Brown, Charcoal, Ivory, and Rust
AVOID – Gold, Yellow, and Pastels
Red-Heads:
Blues – Baby, Navy, Purple, Teal
Greens – Emerald, Hunter, Olive, and Turquoise
Reds – Gold, Mustard, Peach, and Rust
AVOID – Red and Earth Tones
Dark Skin:
Blues – Cobalt, Navy, Purple, Sapphire
Greens – Emerald, Kelly, Lime, and Turquoise
Reds – Burgundy, Fuschia, Orange, and Ruby
AVOID – Ivory, Mauve, White, and Light Colors

Use colors directly across from each other on the wheel to add a little extra to your color scheme and keep them complementary!
Want another way to make everyone happy and keep your theme beautiful? Choose a color and allow your bridesmaids to wear any dress in that color. It’ll give you a monochromatic look, and keep your friends looking their best!
