This timeline is for a 5:00 ceremony. To figure out your timeline, it’s best to work backwards (from the end of the reception)!
9:00 AM: Wake up call, today’s the day!
9:01 AM: Check the weather. If it’s raining, or worse, put Plan B into action.
9:30 AM: Eat breakfast. Oatmeal or a plain bagel and bananas are easy on the stomach.
11:00 AM: Double check your wedding day emergency bag. Don’t forget make-up, vendors’ cells, driving directions, and a copy of the vows (if needed).
12:30 PM: Have a light lunch, then leave to get your hair done. Wear an open-neck or button down shirt that won’t mess up your do.
2:00 PM: The bouquets are delivered. Check to be sure the flowers are in good shape, keep them cool, but don’t put ribbon-wrapped stems in water.
2:30 PM: Have a snack, which will calm a nervous stomach. Good: yougart, grapes, and crackers. Bad: greasy fried, alcohol.
2:45 PM: Apply your make up, in this order: foundation, concealer, eye shadow, liner, mascara, blush/bronzer. Put on your lipstick after you have the gown on.
3:15 PM: Get dressed
With help! If wearing a ballgown, step into it. If wearing a sheath, put a scarf over your face and slide the gown over your head.
4:00 PM: Meet the photographer for pre-wedding photos near the ceremony site with the groom (if you choose), bridal party, and those you wish to be there.
4:30 PM: The groom and his guys arrive at the ceremony with the wedding rings. Ushers start escorting guests to their seats.
4:40 PM: You arrive at the ceremony as do your attendants, and wait nearby, away from the crowd.
5:00 PM: His parents and your mom are escorted to their seats. You and your escort stay back with attendants.
5:05 PM: The aisle runner is put down, if you are using one. The officiant, groom, and best man take their places at the altar. The bridal party walks down the aisle.
5:06 PM: This is it! Take a deep breath, and…go!
